The nineteenth annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala which was held during the Cannes film festival included a full-scale fashion show (Cannes’ first ever!) on Thursday the 24th and was curated by non other than ex-French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld.
The whole thing was, of course, for a good cause. Roitfeld went for an all black dress theme which was trèschic and included beautiful creations from Balenciaga, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton and Versace….. They were all auctioned off as a single lot!!!
What can I say….. Black is ALWAYS the new Black!!!
The starlets have been out on the red carpet in full force over the 65th Annual Cannes film festival this year, but no one is doing it better than Diane Kruger!!! I’ve already spoken about her here but couldn’t resist doing so again….. For the Amour Premiere at the Palais des Festivals, Diane opted to go for a custom-made rose-gold sequinned strapless Vivienne Westwood Couture gown……I loved that she styled it up with minimal accessories to let the dress do all the talking. That Vivienne Westwood gown is from the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Collection so I think that it was the right dress at the right time!!!
It isn’t over yet but Diane Kruger has already made her fashion mark on the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. She was trés chic in a Giambatista Valli couture gown for the opening ceremony and premiere of “Moonrise Kingdom”…. Diane put the finishing touches on her look with a sleek up ‘do, beautiful diamonds and a crystal Judith Leiber clutch….I love that she wore pink satin, peep toe platform sandals instead of something excepted like silver!
I must say that this dress brought back childhood memories!!!… It reminded me of a dress that my mom had when I was little. It was a mint green chiffon flawy gown…. She looked so elegant in it and I remember thinking that I want to look just like that when I grow up!
